Orphanage information
The Jinjiang Children's Welfare Institution is located in Jinjiang, on the southern coast of Fujian about 140 miles from Fuzhou. Jinjiang falls under the jurisdiction of Quanzhou, a beautiful port city that was once one of the premier ports for international trade. For that reason, the area has been home to many immigrants over the centuries and is still very ethnically diverse. The climate is similar to that of Florida - same hot, humid summers, same mild winters, and same rainy season (from May through November, peaking in the summer months).The orphanage children moved into a modern, new building in May 2008. Previously, the orphanage had been in the same location for about 150 years. Love Without Boundaries currently sponsors a preschool program at this orphanage.
