Orphanage information
The Guangze Social Welfare Institute is located in the northwestern part of Fujian Province in the beautiful and spectacular Wuyi mountains, about 225 miles from Fuzhou. It was established in 1981. Guangze is near the border between Fujian and Jiangxi Provinces and is accessible by an 8-hour train ride. This institute is quite small, with only about 25 children living there, many of them special needs children. Some elderly people also live there. The first international adoptions from Guangze were in 2001. An adoptive parent reports that the children adopted by her travel group in 2003 were in good health and well cared for. The main diet for the children older than one year appears to be congee.Orphanage address:
