About Gutian

This area is known for its peaches, and fungus such as mushrooms and tremella (white fungus) are among its local product. Gutian is also the site of Linshuigong Temple, a well-known temple honoring the Goddess of Birth. In December 1929, Gutian was the site of the ninth Congress of the Communist Party, a significant event in Chinese history in which the basic principles of the Communist Party and the Red Army were established. This building in which this congress was held now houses more than 7,000 historical relics, the largest collection of revolutionary relics in Fujian.
